Ariana Grande-Butera (born June 26, 1993), known professionally as Ariana Grande (/ˌɑrˈɑːnə ˈɡrɑːnd/), is an American singer and actress. She began her career singing on a cruise ship, at sporting events, and with various orchestras in South Florida. She appeared in the Broadway musical 13, before landing the role of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon television series Victorious in 2009. After the show ended, Grande rose to prominence as a teen idol on her own spinoff, Sam & Cat in 2013-2014, along with iCarly actress Jennette McCurdy, which was cancelled after one season.

Grande began to pursue a musical career by posting covers on YouTube and Twitter, thus subsequently she signed a recording contract with Republic Records. She launched her music career after the release of her debut studio album, Yours Truly (2013), which debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200. The album’s lead single, “The Way”, became a top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with critics comparing her wide vocal range to Mariah Carey. Ariana went on a summer tour in North America for the album titled The Listening Sessions.

Grande’s second studio album, My Everything (2014), also reached number one. This album earned her awards including “Best Pop Video” at the 2014 MTV VMAs, “Best Song” and “Best Female” at the 2014 MTV EMAs, and she has earned two Grammy Awards nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (Bang Bang). With songs “Break Free”, “Problem”, “Bang Bang” and “Love Me Harder”, she spent 34 continuous weeks in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 and had the most top 10 singles of any artist in 2014.

In 2015, she has promoted My Everything on her world tour titled The Honeymoon Tour which has grossed to about $24,379,990 in the reported venues in the US. She has also made special guest appearances in the Fox new comedy-horror TV series Scream Queens as Chanel #2.

She released on her third studio album titled Dangerous Woman on May 20th, with Dangerous Woman as its first single. The title track debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first person in the history of that chart to have the lead single from each of her first three albums debut in the top 10 Into You is her current single right now. The album debuted at #2 on Billboard, and #1 in the UK, giving her first ever #1 album there!
