The 2014 Billboard Music Awards has a huge problem on its hands. Breakout stars Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea will perform their hit single “Problem” at this year’s ceremony, being held on Sunday, May 18 in Las Vegas. Azalea is also scheduled to perform her song “Fancy” during the live ABC telecast.
Grande and Azalea join previously announced performers including Miley Cyrus, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, 5 Seconds of Summer, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Derulo, Imagine Dragons, Luke Bryan, John Legend and OneRepublic. Lorde will perform her new single “Tennis Court” for the first time on television, and Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood will do the same with their duet “Somethin’ Bad.”
It’s been a monumental year for Grande, whose “Problem” bowed at No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Songs chart and No. 3 on the current Hot 100 — the highest debut of the year on both charts. The track is the first single off Grande’s upcoming second album, due out in the fall. In addition to performing at the BBMAs, Grande is a finalist for the Top New Artist award.
Azalea’s “Fancy,” featuring Charli XCX, currently stands at No. 4 on the Hot 100. With “Problem at No. 3, Azalea is the first female rapper ever to have two songs concurrently in the top five of the Hot 100 chart.
Ariana Grande shows some major midriff as she performs on stage during 102.7 KIIS FM’s 2014 Wango Tango held at the StubHub Center on Saturday (May 10) in Los Angeles.
The 20-year-old singer was joined on stage by Iggy Azalea to perform their new hit “Problem.” Big Sean also took the stage with Ariana that night to perform their duet “Right There.”

Ariana Grande is a TV star and rising musical artist with a whole lot of support within the industry, but just like everyone else, she has problems, too. On Wednesday (Apr. 16), the R&B songstress announced that her new single, “Problem,” will be unveiled during a performance at the Radio Disney Music Awards on Sunday, Apr. 27, and then hit iTunes hours later.
“wanted to start the countdown at ten days but I’m too excited now let’s start today……. #11DaysUntilProblem #toldyouitwassoon,” Grande posted on Twitter. Earlier this week, Chris Brown teased a collaboration with Grande, “Don’t Be Gone Too Long,” which could end up on his upcoming “X” album, while “Problem” will presumably be the lead single from Grande’s upcoming sophomore LP.
When asked on Twitter what “Problem” is about, Grande responded, “knowing U’d be better off w/o someone but u can’t resist them & need them no matter what.” So perhaps “Problem” is about the singer’s ex-boyfriend Jai Brooks, who accused Grande of cheating on him with The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes last fall?
Also of note: Grande and rapper Iggy Azalea have been playing a game of Twitter footsie, teasing fans with “*cough cough*” “*nudge nudge*” action. Will Azalea show up to offer some lyrical solutions on “Problem”?
All questions will be revealed in 10 days when “Problem” drops. Grande’s debut album, “Yours Truly,” spawned the Top 10 hit “The Way” and started at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart last September.
Ariana Grande is joining a long list of vocal divas who have courted the gay community.
I can exclusively reveal that the 20-year-old Nickelodeon star will perform on April 26 at the legendary White Party, the annual gay dance music festival that takes place in Palm Springs, Calif.
“Ariana Grande is one of today’s fastest rising superstars and is destined for pop icon status.”
– White Party founder and producer Jeffery Sanker.
Past performers at the White Party have included Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Robyn, Kesha, Mary J. Blige, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Carmen Electra.
Additional artists on this year’s bill include Bleona and Pitbull‘s “Wild Wild Love” collaborators G.R.L.
Ariana Grande performed at the White House for the Women of Soul event. President Obama and the First Lady hosted “In Performance at the White House: Women of Soul” in Washington, DC. Ariana Grande performed 2 songs: I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston, and Tattooed Heart, and another one with all the performers.

First lady Michelle Obama is bringing together an impressive group of female artists for a White House concert celebrating women of soul.
The lineup for Thursday’s concert includes Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Melissa Etheridge and Janelle Monae. Also performing will be Tessanne Chin, Ariana Grande and Jill Scott.
The show will be streamed live Thursday night on the White House website and broadcast April 7th on PBS stations as “Women of Soul: In Performance at the White House.”
It is designed to celebrate what the White House describes as great “foremothers” of American music, with songs exploring the struggles and achievements of women.
In connection with the concert, the White House will hold a workshop for students to learn about the history of women in soul.
Who’s excited to see Ariana Grande made another performance again?
Ariana Grande put the ‘Little’ in Little Black Dress as she stepped out in a positively miniscule sequinned number at the Pre-Grammy showcase at UMG!
The pint-sized singer was dressed well beyond her tender 20 years in the tight-fitting frock that barely grazed her derrière, exposing plenty of tanned skin.
Adding some much-needed height to her petite frame, the songstress completed her outfit with matching black platform heels as she strutted to Universal Music’s annual pre-Grammys brunch at Lure in Hollywood.
At the showcase, she performed her 2 latest hits: The Way, and Tattooed Heart.

It’s been a while since Arianators were treated to a live performance from the rising songstress, but she’s finally back! At last night’s MTV Artists to Watch at the House of Blues in L.A., Ariana Grande surprised the audience by coming out during YouTube star (and American Idolalum) Tori Kelly’s cover of Ariana’s own song, “Right There.”
[youtube id=”td_HUEEPbYo” width=”620″ height=”360″]
“I’ve been messing around with [this song] lately and I really, really, really like it. I’m a huge fan of this person and she’s become a really good friend of mine.”
– Tori Kelly
Then the 21-year-old breaks into an acoustic version of Ariana’s hit single, and we must say, she does it justice! This girl’s got the goods.
As if that weren’t enough of a crowd-pleaser already, midway through the catchy tune, Miss Ariana herself walks out! The audience went wild at the duet — and who could blame ‘em? These two young powerhouses sound fantastic together, and hopefully it won’t be a one-time deal. We need more of this, ladies!
Tori’s been on the brink for a while now, having landed her first record deal at 12 — though industry drama caused things to fall through. She’s gained a major following online through her impressive YouTube covers(check out her version of Michael Jackson’s “PYT,” and Justin Timberlake’s “Suit & Tie”). She’s now under Scooter Braun’s management (just like Ariana!) and is working on her album with acts like Ed Sheeran and Pharrell. We predict big things ahead for this talented artist.
