They grew up together onscreen in Nickelodeon’s Victorious.
But the reports of bad blood between Victoria Justice and Ariana Grande began the moment their hit series came to an end in 2013. Now Victoria, 21, has insisted to TMZ that ‘there is no feud’ between she and the 21-year-old singer.
Victoria took the heat for the rumoured spat, as she embarked on a solo music tour near the time her popular dramedy wrapped. ‘Is there any part of you that regrets breaking up the band with Ariana Grande?’ a cameraman asked the actress as she arrived at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday.
Victoria immediately defended herself, saying, ‘I didn’t break up anything.” The star was thought to have left the show to pursue her own music career. But she explained, ‘That’s complete misinformation, because first of all I had no control over leaving the show or the show ending. That was completely up to Nickelodeon and the executives.
‘I love the cast and I loved doing Victorious,’ the starlet continued, ‘me going on tour when I did had nothing to do with whether or not there was a Victorious tour. ‘There’s much more to that story that people don’t know,’ Victoria quipped. ‘I don’t think it’s fair though to blame that on me because it’s not true.’
Yet, the actress insists, ‘There is no feud.’ She clarified, ‘We’re not like best friends, but at the end of the day, I wish her well. And she’s doing great, and I’m happy for her.’ The Fun Size star also says the pair are not competitive with one another, stating, ‘We are on our own different paths, doing our own thing.’
